FAQ
Do I need to provide a resume?
Yes. A resume PDF is required. Resumes are used only for merit award selection and program administration, not for hiring decisions. Do not include SSN, and a home address is not required.
Will selected recipients be publicly announced?
Selected recipients may be invited to participate in an optional announcement or spotlight. Participation is optional.
Is this a job application or university tuition reimbursement?
No. This is a merit award application for a Day 3 HVAC license. It is not a job application and it is not tuition reimbursement to your college or university.
Will I owe taxes?
The award may constitute taxable income to the recipient at the fair market value of the license ($1,899). Recipient is solely responsible for any federal, state, or local taxes, including any state tax filings that may apply in the recipient's state. Day 3 Academy does not provide tax advice. For the current one-time $1,899 award structure, Day 3 Academy does not expect to request a W-9 or issue a federal Form 1099-MISC if no additional reportable payments are made to the same recipient in the same calendar year. Day 3 Academy may request tax documentation and issue required tax forms if required by law, if the facts change, or based on CPA guidance.
Do I need to submit a W-9 or SSN to apply?
No. Day 3 Academy does not request SSN or tax forms in the application. If tax documentation is later required for a selected recipient, it will be requested after selection through a secure process and not by email.
Do I have to have a LinkedIn profile?
Yes. A LinkedIn profile is required for eligibility. Adding the credential to LinkedIn after completion is optional, but encouraged.
Do I have to post on LinkedIn?
No. Posting is optional but encouraged.
What if I run into issues or the program is not a fit?
We take feedback seriously. You will have an internal feedback path (survey + calls). If something is off, tell us so we can address it.
Is this sponsored by LinkedIn?
No. This program is run by Day 3 Academy. LinkedIn is not sponsoring or administering it.
